We received a Demand Letter from a fraudulent organization calling itself “Business Filing Division” and another one calling itself "Annual Filings Division" attempting to scam AllBusinessAdvisors into paying them $239.00 and $195.00 respectively.

The letters they sent both front and back are very similar to the annual “Statement of Information” form that the California Secretary of State requires of Limited Liability Companies in California.  The letters threaten us that if we do not pay that our LLC will be suspended and that we will lose the right to conduct business.

The California Secretary of State has issued a customer alert regarding the fraudulent Business Filing Division/Annual Filing Division scam and more information as to how you can report these letters.

California, Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. filed suit on the 8th of this month against eight individuals and six businesses that operated scams targeting small business owners. The lawsuits, filed today in San Diego Superior Court, seek to recover more than $3 million. See press release for details.

Below is a view of the front and the back of the form.
